Costs of living in Cheyenne, WY

Rent:$570 (includes water and garbage pickup) for two bedroom, 1 bath, apartment in town, off-street parking.

Utilities: $110 avg per mo for gas and electric

Internet:$55 per mo

Cell phone: $44.00 per mo

Transportation: $20 per week (I live a few blocks from my office)

Recreation: $5.00 (YMCA seniors discount)

Food: $70.00 per week

Dozen eggs: $1.22

Rent 430, Utilities 150, Phone 65, Cable TV 55, Groceries for 2 people 500 a month.

Average house rental runs 750 to 1200 a month. Gas as of 12/6/08 = 1.50 a gallon

Home values average 140,000 - 200,000 purchase price. Largest employer in the state

of Wyoming is the State of Wyoming itself. Cheyenne has the most stable economy

in the state due to the government infrastructure and the F.E. Warren Air Force Base.

Transportation costs within the city are negligible. Three tanks of gas per month. 15

minutes drive will take you from one end of the town to the other. Bus fare is $1 per trip

Housing: 870. 190,000 on a 4 bed, 2 bath historic home in downtown.

Utilities: 250. Basic gas and electric after weatherization in the winter

Food: 850. For 2 adults, 5 children under 10

Healthcare: 159 + copay (avg 80) Monthly premium for employer-subsidized HMO

Recreation: 100. 2 family events monthly

Dozen Eggs: 1.19

Michalena's Frozen Lunch: $1

2 oz. Mid-grade pipe tobacco: $4.39

Daily Paper: $.50

20 minutes relaxing with a pipe and a paper after the office and before screaming kids: priceless
