Rent £2500pm for 4 bed house

utilities £346 PM

Transportation £400pm fuel is ridiculously expensive now in UK

Food, £250 per week, this has risen by over 60% this year so far

UK is getting worse and worse, cost of living continues to rise but wages are standing still, so many people are struggling to maintain rising costs.

London is an expensive place to live. I bought my small 1-bed flat but to rent it would cost approx £800 per month.

Utilities: Water - on a meter: £20 per month; Electricity - on a meter: £30 per month.

Going out: A few drinks after work will normally rack up £20

Rent in Kensington & Chelsea, London UK

Zone 1

2 Bedroom flat with roof terrance £1500

Council Tax :£180

Phone : £ 50 per month

Groceries : £120 per month

Gym: £105 per month

Pint of milk from corner shop 59 pence

Transport £20 for a tube car per week, at least.

Public transport is relatively cheap and reliable, i use it every day including buses (£1 per journery), tubes (£1.50 per journey in zone 1) and trains

Eating out - too variable... in my area i can choose from Indian, Lebonease, Thai, Chinease, Dim Sum, Sushi, Fish and Chips, Nandos, Streak House, Ask Pizza, Carluccio's, Argentinian etc. etc.
Be in no doubt, this is one of the most expensive cities in the world, but it's also one of the most amazing

Rent: 1,100 for a two-bedroom maisonette, small living room, small bedrooms, small kitchen, small everything... we have a little garden too....

Shopping bills for 2 people is about £100 per week (no alcohol included), we are not vegetarians, nor vegans... we love meat...

Bills are paid every quarter and they are in direct debit, so I don't know how much we pay.
Petrol has gone down in price, we don't spend even a full tank per month, petrol is around 85/90 pence per litre.

Public transport: bus fare is £2 pounds (I think) for a single journey regardless of the distance on the same bus, if you use a travel card it costs £1 pound (I think)... tube fares from zone 4 (where I live) to zone 1 is about £4.50 (expensive!!) and during rush hour it goes to 7.50.... but having a weekly/monthly/yearly travel card could save you lots as you don't have to pay for rush hour extras.

Take-aways: I know the basic local Chinese food would cost around £10/15 pounds for 2 people.
