Default Chiang Mai, THAILAND

Rent: 2 bdrm, 2 bath, renovated, modern, with western kitchen condo $670.00/mo (1350 sq. ft.) plus $30/month condo fees plus $30-$75/ month electric and gas. Can definitely find good accommodations for less.

Food budget $650.00/month and eat OK.

Wi-fi: $10/month

Transportation: Rent motorbike (monthly) plus some taxi rides: $100.00/month.

Current Baht/Dollar exchange rate 34.46 to $1.00.

Eat out nearly every meal because it is so inexpensive, but toiletries, paper products, beer in the frig., etc. are probably an additional $175/ month.

Both wine and cheese are ridiculously expensive ($20 for a pound of cheddar; wine that is less than $6 a bottle at SAM's is $20 a bottle here).

All of this is for two adults. Life is good here, lots of foreigners and the locals are friendly. A city that feels like a large town that is unlike the capitol, Bangkok, to the south.
