Mortgage Bond - R 3 000 (Current property value and Bond rates would equate to R 10 000 per month - 3 bedroom, lounge, diner, kitchen, full bath, garage 120 square built up on 850 square meter land)

Property Rates, Water and Exectricity - between R1 000 and R1 500

Car - R 3 000 (classic dream car)

Insurance (Car and House) - R 800

Fuel (three vehicles - 1996 - 3,5 V6 4x4, 2000 - 1300cc toyota and 1982 - 3.0 Sports Car) - R 2 500 per month approx 1800km traveled

Food and Groceries - R2 500 varies

Cellphones x 2 - R450

Entertainment - R 500

2 x Childrens schooling R 9 000 per annum

Vehicle maintenance costs R12 000 per annum (expensie 4x4 tyres @ R1 300 each, servicing of Mitsubishi Pajero R2000, Toyota R1 000)

On average my cost of living is between R17 000.00 to R20 000 which I would regard as middle income and affordable- Most families are dual income with a net of approximately R20 000 between them.

- Rent: R 4500 for a two bedroom in a moderately two bedroom flat ground floor.

- Transportation: R 1500 for gas due the fact that SA do not have a public transportation to speak of.

- Groceries work out to about R 3000/ month but can vary depending on what you buy but R3000 month is for two people.
