as an expat my cost of living,(single person)

- single room in a 3 bed room flat 480 riyals/ month
- electricity + internet 100 riyals/ month
- food 450 riyals/ month
- utilities 100 riyals(cloth wash+ water)/ month

but you can live more cheaper,(single person)

- shared room (single bed room shared with another person) - 200 riyals/month
- electricity - 25 riyals/month
- food(self cooking) - 150 riyals/ month
- utilities - 20 riyals/ month

for a family cost of living,(two persons + a child)

- an apartment costs from 1600 - 2000 riyal/ month (mostly ten months rent if u pay for one year togather)
- electricity (3 AC + 1 fridge + 2 water heaters + tv/lightning all others) - 150 riyals/ month
- food(home cooking) - 400 - 550 riyal/ month
- utilities (internet+ tv, etc) - 350 riyal/ month

electricity costs go up during summer due to heavy usage of AC.
a indian type meal costs around 8- 10 riyal in normal hotel.
a arabian type meal costs around 14- 20 riyal in good restaurant.(not deluxe ones!)
internet costs varies with speed 1 mbps net for 200 riyals to 20 mbps @ 299riyals
petrol/diesel is cheapest(costs less than water) 2 ltr for 1riyal!!!
health is covered by insurance, u hav to pay only 20% of the total charge.
electronics are cheap(coz of no taxes)
