Nice middle class home (think DINKS, for example) is about $300K, although there is plenty available for less as well as more. Gasoline is expensive. Property taxes are high (e.g. $13K on a $500K home).

Healthcare is excellent and as cheap as your insurance allows.

Food is in medium price ranges with excellent access to dairy products, tree fruits, and a variety of organics, among the host of other foods.

Outdoor recreation is just outside the door. Big city entertainment is four hours east or west. Excellent public services help for those with low income. Great place to live but not the cheapest place.
