Default Toluca, México, México

All values are in Mexican Pesos,

Living In Toluca is not as expensive as living in the Mexico City, Toluca is near Mexico City (about 40 min by highway, it is only to 45km). In the most of the cases all the neighborhoods are moderately priced, obviously the are certain neighborhoods that are very low priced, but all of this paces are normally in the bounds of the city.

Mortgage/Rent: $5,000.00-$8,000.00 for a house with 3 moderated size bedrooms, 1 or 2 bathrooms, kitchen and a little garden in a medium class neighborhood without furniture. The services are very cheap, for example the monthly electricity bill could be between $ 300.00 to $500.00, if you would have Telephone and Internet should add $500.00 to $1,800.00 depending of witch kind of service do you need, this amount could include cell phone service or TV Cable ($200.00 to $1,500.00).

-Food: The cost of food and groceries depends if you prefer or have time to cook or if you prefer to eat outside home or fast food, in the first case is very cheap and you could only spend about $3,000.00 monthly for the groceries, in the second case this cost would rice up to $8,000.00. For example, in my case my family we are 3 members, my wife, my baby (2 years) and I, and we normally lunch (like dinner) outside, breakfast and dinner (soft, like a lunch) in the house, in the weekends some fast food and we spend about $5,000.00 to $7,000.00 monthly including diapers, baby's milk and normal groceries.

-Transportation: If you are going to live here I can recommend you to brought a small car, because the taxis are a little expensive, for example one trip for 7km could cost you about $70.00, and if you travel by bus it will cost you about $10.00 but the problem with this option is that maybe you have to take more than one to arrive to your destiny, if you are planning to live in Toluca and travel to Mexico City the car is the best option, and the city is very closest and in some cases is better than that you live there because of the traffic. ($5,000 monthly with gas and highway)

-Education: Governmental education for the lower levels (up to high school) are free, if you think in a particular education you could spend between $2,500.00 up to $12,000.00 depending of the type of school and grade.

-Recreation: There are a few options in the city, if you are thinking in a small mall, movie theaters, coffee shops, small bars and some cultural events this is the right place, if this is not for you, you always have the Mexico City... (In the first case one out could be between $200-$1,000)
