I live in Nairobi in the middle-upper state area, Monthly costs are like as follows

Rent: 1000 USD for an apartment of 3bedrooms with a balcony and 2parking slots. The service charge is included in the rent for the maintenance of the compound.

Utilities: like Water and power and cable(what is dstv in kenya)and internet and some other extras come to about 480 -500 USD

Food and other household shopping varies but i probably spend between 500-700 USD when it comes to house stuff and food.

School is a big load especiallly for private international schools.. roughly costing 2,500 USD every term for tuition and lunch and some extras.

Fuel has become crazy in Kenya and shot up so much to 1.5 USD per litre compared to how low it used to be and of course medical cover and dentists cost an arm and a leg..Especially if you want good medical attention or even medical cover.medical cover annually for an international company is minimum 1,500USD.
