Too expensive, not realistic what you wrote...
For 2200 USD you can rent a big (250-300m2) house with garden and pool in a luxury district, not only an apartment with 2 bedrooms. Check the prices on this site: ingatlan.com - Az ingatlanhirdetsi kzpont
1500USD for food?!
Man, what do you eat, only lobster with tfruffle? And do you drink only Dom Perignon?
If a family with one child go to eat always to a (good) restaurant, and only to restaurant!, it costs approx. 550-600 USD monthly...

Rent (133 euro per month) for one room in a two-room flat. That is a really good area at Buda side, called Rózsadomb, not so far from the city. It was a luck. You have to be careful, because for foreign people the rent is much more expensive. You should ask hungaian friends to help you. English advertisement are so expensive....
Utiities: electricity for the full flat (10 euro per month)
heating in winter for the full flat(50 euro per month)
internet (10 euro per month for the full flat)
Food: If you cook yourself, and you buy in the nig markets and in the Tesco, it is cheap (65 euro per month)

Unfortunately, I am a student with free housing and health care.
I have not been keeping track of the cost of my remaining expenses separately, but I guess that it is about 350USD for food, sundries, recreation, and study supplies (paper, pens, notebooks, etc.), and things for organizing my living space (which is already furnished). I eat every meal either at one of the student cafeterias or at a local restaurant.
Food seems very inexpensive here when I compare it to the San Francisco Bay Area where I used to live (Belmont, California, USA). A full meal at the student cafeteria is roughly 4USD, at a local cafeteria 7USD, at a moderately priced restaurant 8 - 10 USD. Groceries are very inexpensive, maybe half of the cost in California for most items.
