Default Boulder, CO

Colorado's cost of living is pretty reasonable compared to the costal areas of the US. Boulder is one of the more costly areas in CO, but it is still affordable relative to expected wages. The biggest differential compared to surrounding areas is housing.

Rent -- $2,550 for 5 bedroom home

Utilities -- $300 to $400 per month based on season

Transportation -- I own two vehicles and so my transportation cost depend principally on how much I drive. Current price for gasoline is approximately $2.00 per gallon

Food -- We are a family of 5. We eat out very little. Grocery costs are probably between $500 and $600 per month. Current price for common groceries -- Gallon of milk --$2.25, Dozen Eggs -- $1.30, Loaf of Bread -- $2.00, 1 lbs of Apples $1.50, Chicken Breast -- $4.50/lb. The cost of a moderately priced meal for 2 (eating out) would be around $30 excluding drinks.

Recreation -- Adult Movie Ticket -- $10, Denver Zoo -- $12/adult & $7/child, Swimming Pool -- $5/adult & $2.50/child
