Default Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada

In Elliot Lake the average rent would be around $650. - for instance I live in a 2 bedroom semi detached house for $589. per month - but you could get a one bedroom apartment for around $500. and a 3 bedroom house for $700.00 to $750. per month.

Water is included in my rent but if not your monthly water bill that you get from your tap is $35.00 per month - plus I pay for my own hydro around $125.00 average per month (it is Canada and we do get winters) and I also run my gas fireplace in the winter months November to March or so for around $100. per month.

This is a small town with approximatly 11000 people - we have two good grocery stores - 2 major drug stores a dept. store several hardware stores. We have in town bus service - but to get out of town you need a vehicle as it approximatly 35 km to the main highway - but once there, there are main bus services that will take you anywhere like say you wanted to go to Toronto you could and it would take about 8 hours.

This is mainly a retirement community and there is no industry up here - so if you are looking for work this is not the place. Unless you are in the medical field.

We do have good schools there are three from kindergarten to grade 8 in Catholic, French and English and just English languages. We also have a good high school. But no colleges or universities.\\\\

Gas is $1.35 a litre (not gallon) bread $3. a loaf milk $5. for 4 litres apples $1. per lb.

It is a pretty town with two sandy beaches lots of fishing, golf, small skill hill, olympic size pool \\\\

and yes we are surrounded by nature that is woods and yes you do see the odd bear - consider yourself lucky if you see one in one year but you live here long enough and you will see one or two or three.

Free blueberry picking as there are lots to pick in August but again there are those bears (kidding) but you could meet one.
