Default Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada

Living in rural Saskatchewan, Canada has a balance of lower cost of living but also lower amount of variety especially in recreation and arts. Utilities in the winter months can spike as natural gas is used for heating. Owning and operating a vehicle is an essential as there is poor public transit within the small city.
Typical costs for a couple would be:

Mortgage/Rent = $800-1500
Utilities = 300 (power, natural gas, water, garbage collection)
Food = 500-800
Health Care = government plan 0, private plans vary
Recreation = 75-200
Dozen Eggs = 2.79
