Default Gaborone, Botswana

Rent about $330 for a 3 beedroom, two bath house, subsidised by my employer, $1000 is more typical
Utilities, Electrical: $40, water $20, Satellite TV $48, Security $25
Health Insurance, $ 1000
Food $70
Fuel .80 per litre or around $4 per gallon
Recreation: $15 to take a family of five to the movies. The museum is free.
Sedan taxi: about $2.5 fpr one trip, Combi taxi: about 34c for a trip. You may need several combis to reach your destination.

The Pula has fallen significantly against the dollar in the past year, so the above are based on the current exchange rate. Prices tend to go up with a drop in the pula value. Overall the cost of living in Gaborone is low, higher than Kampala, where we lived before. There is not much to do here, so budget for travel.

Hi, you don't say if the rent is weekly or monthly or if you're quoting USD. Can you clarify?
Regards
