For 2 people

Rent- AUD$280 WEEK -For warehouse/unit in Industrial area with 1 bedroom, bathroom (no bath) , basic kitchenette and larger space. No garden. If we were to be living in small basic brick house we are looking at about $500 - a week or up to $1200 for water views.

Food - AUD $140 WEEK - This is to eat in. Pretty reasonable foods. Some organic veggies which are actually MORE expensive at the local markets than supermarket. If we want to eat out at middle class kind of restaurant (say thai) looking at about $50-$60 a couple.

Utilities - PHONE/INTERNET/ELECTRICITY AUD $100 WEEK

Transport - $40 WEEK - this includes petrol and maintenance of car.

Recreation -AUD $60 - Entry into venue to see live music and 2 drinks each (beer and vodka and tonic)

1 nice grainy loaf of bread - AUD $4.50
1 litre of petrol (time of writing) - AUD $1.68
1 packet winfield tabacco 150grams - AUD 13.50
1 gram maryjane - AUD $10
1 kg red apple - AUD $6.50
1 small organic cabbage (supermarket) - AUD $5
